I prayed all the way there. I wanted this job so much, it only made sense that I work at a coffee shop while in college. I love cliché’s. I walk in, sit down, tell them my favorite coffee drink, laugh, get hired, and train. All in one sitting. I thought they were just so impressed with me they wanted me to start right away. Turns out that they were opening in a week and just really needed people. I didn’t care. Besides, I liked being the newbie. I trained all afternoon and out of nowhere walks in the goofy kid with dreadlocks. Starbucks had just closed in town and this was a barista in need of another shot. (Get it? A shot? *sigh* Goodness I love puns.) Anyway, I only got to enjoy a few hours of being the newbie, he was hired on the spot too. Little did I know what a friend he would be.
It was a busy night that night. CPR night. That’s Community Poetry Readings, not Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. I can only image how strange that would be. Anyway… Josh was nervous and antsy, well I should say more nervous and antsy than usual. I pulled him aside to see what all the weirdness was about and he proceeds to tell me that he is going to recite a poem. ”That’s it? You’ll do fine! Quiet worrying…” But not just any poem…he was going to ask Kristi out in this poem. Well that changes things now doesn’t it. Well we all watched in anticipation as he read that poem and Krisit’s face turned a shade of red that I’m sure I hadn’t seen before. They hugged and that was it. They were hooked. And I can say that I’ve had the honest pleasure of watching every progression of their relationship.
I went with Josh to pick up her ring, took pictures of the proposal at an unforgettable Christmas party, and plan on shooting their wedding in July. I couldn’t be more excited. These two are completely perfect for one another. Kristi supports Josh in every dream, no matter how crazy…She laughs at all his corny jokes, with sincerity I might add. He loves her like I’ve never seen a man love. He giggles at the sound of her name, and cherishes her every touch.
I just love them. And their love for each other.

It was c-r-a-z-y windy the day of their shoot and Josh was being a bit dramatic about it. Which is what makes him so awesome. And Kristi always laughs…which is what makes her so awesome.

I love love love Spring.

Thanks for being so wonderful, you two. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you.
